Mr. James’s client faced trial on twelve charges alleging that he discharged a firearm at his intimate partner. He faced a federal-length penitentiary sentence. Following the first day of trial, Crown Counsel agreed to drop all but two of the charges, and jointly submitted to the Court that 60 days of custodial time was the appropriate sentence.
