R. v. M.D., Nanaimo Registry
Mr. Massey and Mr. James’s client was charged with two counts of aggravated assault. He was detained at VIRCC while represented by previous counsel. After Mr. Massey and Mr. James took the file over, the client’s release was secured at a Supreme Court bail review. Following the production of reports, the client was found to be not criminally responsible due to a mental disorder he suffered at the time of the offence.
